||To all our Dearborn Library patrons:
They say “all good things must come to an end” and so it is for my career with the Dearborn Public Library. I will be retiring as of August 12, 2022. While my retirement is bittersweet, it is easy to retire because I know that I leave the Library in the very capable hands of a tremendous staff who live and breathe the mission of the library – to provide for the educational, informational and recreational needs of the community.
For more years (too many to mention), I’ve seen the Library grow and change. Today, the Library is more than a warehouse of books and media available for check-out. The Library has become a vibrant community space. The Library provides study space, public computers with internet access, free wi-fi, resume and job search assistance, homework help, and programs for adults, children and teens. And, we must not forget all the amazing online products which include e-books, e-audio, streaming music and videos.
I know, without a doubt, that the Dearborn Library staff will strive to make sure the Library continues to grow and change and meet the needs of the citizens of Dearborn.
Thank you. I’ve had the best job ever!
