Opening of Wissam Charafeddine

Brothers and Sisters

Peace be upon you.

I will start with the following land acknowledgement.

We acknowledge that we are gathered on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Potawatomi, and Odawa peoples. We recognize the crimes that were committed against the indigenous people of the land when it was colonized by European forces and bandits.  We recognize the pain and betrayal the indigenous people have felt when the US Government abrogated and broke several treaties with the Indian tribes.  We recognize their enduring connection to this territory and express respect for their resistance. As immigrants to this land now known as Michigan, we honor the histories and cultures of Indigenous peoples across all occupied lands, past and present, and pledge that we will stand with the oppressed and fight against occupation and ethnic cleaning and genocide every where and every time, till peace pervades earth.

Today marks six months of genocide.

Half a year of Genocide in Gaza.

39,178 Palestenians have been killed.

14,622 Children have been murdered.

73,300 have been injured.

Countless others under the rubble.

2.2 Million are starving.

7,490 Palestinians have been kidnapped from the West Bank

3500 Palestinians are being held without charge in administrative detention in violation of Geneva convention.

Six months of Starving Children carrying dead baby siblings.

Six months of mothers singing to dead children in their hands,

And children crying at the mass graves of dead parents.

Six months of a mostly Silent World.

Six months of the destruction of all values of justice, humanity, democracy, civilization…

Six months of destruction of every international law

Six months of destruction of  Every section of the Geneva convention

Six months of destruction of Every article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Six months of destruction of Every word of the American Declaration of Independence

We gather here to declare beyond doubt our condemnation of the Genocide taking place in Gaza by the Netenyahu Regime and the largest terrorist organization in the world, the IDF

We gather here to condemn the AIPAC Whitehouse and AIPAC Congress who are not only partners, but also enablers of the Genocide that is being committed publicaly, intentionally, and under the observation of the international community and history by the extreme right racist government ever seen in Israel.

Our government is filled with War Criminals today, and every wall of it is tainted with children’s blood.

What more can we say?

What more can we do?

There is so much we are doing, and we can do…

But the minimum we can do today as Americans, is becoming clear about what thing

As Caitlin Johnstone puts it: “”A political party which views OPPOSING AN ACTIVE GENOCIDE as a fringe extremist position is not a political party that should continue to exist.”

The Democratic Party and Republican Party have committed war crimes that no longer allows us the possibility of considering working in or with such parties.

A party whose 100% of senators vote against Cease Fire is an evil party in my opinion.  Becuase you vote, and sleep at night knowing that your vote is literally killing children that night.  How can you sleep?  When I used to work in a School, if I issued a suspension of a kid in accordance to state policy, but questioned the harm that may inflect on him or her, I couldn’t sleep that night.

How can you sleep when you send bombs to kill children at night, and you see their corpses in the morning on your phone?

Well many of us didn’t know that Ameirca is a multiparty country, and there are more than two parties in the country, no matter how much is this fact suppressed.  Today, we are honored to have with us Green Party Presidential Candidate Dr. Jill Stein, who has been a very strong and vocal voice for immediate cease fire, and a voice for justice and peace in the world as Green Party is well known to represent everywhere around the globe.

We are going to hear from her today and then we will have a question and answer session open with you.

But first, I would like to open this evening with a word of welcome by Imam Elahi, who has generously opened the Islamic House of Wisdom for this event, and if you know Imam Elahi, you know he is man who has been fighting for peace, justice, coexistence, and love all his life.

Since I have known him back in the early 90’s, Imam Elahi has been a voice of Wisdom and justice, bringing people together, bringing faiths together, giving the best advice to the AMerican administration, and being a voice of justice and peace around the world.  He, adn the board of Islamic House of Wisdom, has made this center a center for social justice and peace, and there is no better place to be tonight fighting injustice and genocide than in this house of Wisdom, house of God.

Help me welcome Imam Elahi.

Dr. Jill Stein is an American physician, activist, and politician who gained prominence as the Green Party’s nominee for President of the United States in both the 2012 and 2016 elections. She holds a medical degree from Harvard Medical School and has been involved in various environmental and social justice causes throughout her career.

The Green Party values, which Dr. Jill Stein has championed, reflect a commitment to ecological sustainability, social justice, grassroots democracy, and nonviolence. Here’s an introduction to some of the key values associated with the Green Party:

Ecological Wisdom: The Green Party emphasizes the importance of living in harmony with the environment and recognizes the interconnectedness of all living things. This value calls for sustainable practices that preserve natural resources and protect biodiversity.

Social Justice: The Green Party advocates for social and economic justice, seeking to address inequalities based on race, gender, class, sexual orientation, and other factors. They support policies that promote fairness, equality, and opportunity for all members of society.

Grassroots Democracy: The Green Party believes in the power of ordinary people to participate in the political process and make decisions that affect their lives. They advocate for decentralized government structures that empower local communities and promote direct citizen involvement in decision-making.

Nonviolence: The Green Party opposes war, militarism, and violence as tools for resolving conflicts. Instead, they advocate for peaceful resolution of disputes through diplomacy, dialogue, and cooperation.

Community-Based Economics: The Green Party supports economic systems that prioritize the well-being of people and the planet over corporate profits. They advocate for localized economies, worker-owned cooperatives, and sustainable business practices that promote social and environmental responsibility.

Global Responsibility: The Green Party recognizes the interconnectedness of global issues such as climate change, poverty, and human rights. They advocate for international cooperation and solidarity to address these challenges and promote peace and justice on a global scale.

Dr. Jill Stein has been a vocal advocate for these values throughout her political career, seeking to raise awareness and mobilize support for policies that align with the principles of the Green Party.

When it came to Gaza, the Green Party and Dr. Jill Stein were on the forefront of protest and calling for Ceasefire since October 8.  She has participated in the Washington DC rally and continues to speak openly and strongly on the subject condemning genocide and the complicity of the US government in it.  Thank you Dr. Stein for being a beacon of light at the time where darkness is sweeping through the Western Civilization.
