At tonight’s Crestwood Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Youssef Mosallam was honored with special recognition for receiving the 2024 Superintendent of the Year award from the National Association of School Superintendents. Board President Danielle Elzayat presented Dr. Mosallam with two plaques—one on behalf of the Crestwood Board of Education and another on behalf of David Knezek from the Wayne County Commissioner’s office, as Knezek was out sick.
Brian Paul, a 4th grade teacher at Highview Elementary and representative of the Crestwood Federation of Teachers, and Jennifer Ray, Crestwood High School’s Activity Director and Testing Coordinator, both delivered heartfelt speeches praising Dr. Mosallam’s leadership. Their words reflected the deep admiration held by Crestwood’s staff for his impact on the district.
Last week, Dr. Mosallam was also recognized at the Dearborn Heights City Council meeting.
Dr. Mosallam’s entire family was present, including his parents, in-laws, children, aunts, and extended family, making the evening even more meaningful. We continue to celebrate the achievements of our district and applaud Dr. Mosallam for his tireless efforts in making Crestwood a great place to work, learn, and grow.
