Bridging Hearts: Livonia’s New Interfaith Group Launches with Powerful National Day of Prayer Event

On May 1, a new chapter of interfaith dialogue and community connection began in Livonia. Bridging Hearts, a grassroots initiative focused on fostering understanding and compassion across religious lines, held its first event at Madonna University — coinciding with the National Day of Prayer.

The gathering drew over 250 people from various faith traditions, including Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, and others. The program featured prayers, reflections, and conversations designed to uplift shared values of peace, unity, and human dignity.

Organizers say this is just the beginning. With plans for ongoing events, Bridging Hearts aims to build lasting bonds of respect and solidarity in Southeast Michigan.

“Faith should be a force for connection, not division,” one attendee said. “Tonight, we felt that truth in action.”

Stay tuned for future gatherings promoting spiritual solidarity and community peace.
