Commuters, take note! Beginning the week of July 28, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will launch a significant road improvement project on US-12 (Michigan Avenue) stretching from Greenfield Rd. to Cecil Ave. This vital corridor through Dearborn and Detroit will experience lane closures through late 2025, though at least one lane will remain open in each direction.
🚧 Project Highlights:
- Greenfield Rd. to I-94: 1.7 miles of resurfacing
- Lawndale St.: Emergency road void repairs
- Dearborn Homecoming (Aug 1–4): Construction paused
- Upgrades: ADA sidewalk improvements, joint repairs, and new pavement markings
This $4.5 million initiative is part of Governor Whitmer’s broader “Fix the Damn Roads” plan—prioritizing infrastructure without raising taxes.
