Detroit Protest to Demand: “Stop Starving Gaza”

Local activists and national advocacy groups are mobilizing for a pots and pans protest at Eastern Market in Detroit on Saturday, August 2 at 9 AM, demanding an immediate end to the starvation and humanitarian siege in Gaza.

Organized by the Coalition Against Genocide with support from the Palestinian Youth Movement, U.S. Palestinian Community Network, Veterans for Peace, and interfaith allies, the demonstration will bring together Metro Detroit residents to call for an end to U.S. military and political support for Israel’s blockade, which has triggered famine conditions and mass civilian suffering.

“The world cannot look away while children in Gaza starve,” said one organizer. “This is a U.S.-funded atrocity, and it will only end if we speak out together.”

Protest Details:

  • Date: Saturday, August 2, 2025
  • Time: 9:00 AM
  • Location: Eastern Market, Detroit – meet at Russell & Winder St.
  • Action: Bring pots and pans to make noise for Gaza

The protest highlights growing outrage over U.S. complicity in the ongoing humanitarian disaster and aims to pressure elected officials to demand a permanent ceasefire and an end to the blockade.
