Who is Esmée Silverman?
Esmée Silverman (they/she) is a nationally recognized queer activist, community organizer, and changemaker. Known for their creativity, compassion, and fierce advocacy, Esmée has dedicated their life to empowering queer and trans youth across the country.
As the MediaCom Chair of the Green Party U.S. Youth Caucus (Young EcoSocialists) and a core organizer with the Pacific Green Party of Oregon, Esmée has played a pivotal role in organizing campaigns, educational initiatives, and direct actions. They are also the co-founder and co-president of Queer Youth Assemble, a non-profit building autonomy and joy for queer and trans youth through national protests, community spaces, and storytelling projects.
Why Basecamp?
In an era where activism must move fast, cross borders, and coordinate hundreds of people at once, the right tools matter. Basecamp is one of the leading platforms activists are now turning to for managing campaigns, delegating tasks, streamlining communication, and keeping everyone on the same page.
This session will explore how Basecamp is being used by grassroots movements across the U.S. to:
- Organize national days of action
- Collaborate across time zones and organizations
- Manage media, logistics, and field strategy in real-time
- Build decentralized yet disciplined coalitions
Whether you’re an organizer, student leader, or someone looking to bring structure to your local efforts, this conversation will be a practical and inspiring look into the digital tools driving today’s movements.

Join the conversation on Tuesday, August 11 at 7PM EST, live on Facebook via the Dearborn Blog page. Bring your questions and ideas — the virtual floor is open to all activists, allies, and community builders.
