For those in/near Detroit, a monthly vigil calling for the release of 16 prisoners "cleared for transfer" from Guantanamo and for the closure of Guantanamo Bay Prison. Detroit is one of 8 cities worldwide participating. If any AI Group wishes to join in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, or Lansing by holding a vigil at a federal building in their city, they would be welcomed by this quixotic 8!
2. Thurs., May 2, any time during business hours, but especially 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Global Day of Action to Stop Arms Transfers to Israel and call for Ceasefire in Gaza–Michigan! We (MI AI members) have been particularly asked to call on President Biden and our US Senators and Congresspersons to demand a Ceasefire.
