GAZA: Journalists Under Fire — A Free Documentary Exposing the Killing of Palestinian Journalists

In a time when truth-telling comes at a deadly cost, GAZA: Journalists Under Fire sheds light on the harrowing reality faced by Palestinian journalists working under siege. Directed and distributed for free by Brave New Films, the documentary has already been hailed by writer and film historian Ed Rampell of The Progressive as “heartbreaking,” “well-made,” and “among the best” documentaries about Palestine and Israel ever made.

The film has reached more than 750 screenings worldwide, bringing urgent attention to Israel’s killing of journalists in Gaza. Last year alone, Brave New Films’ work reached over 60 million people across social media, sparking activism and awareness on a global scale.

By offering their films free to the public, the non-profit organization empowers communities, advocacy groups, and other non-profits to host screenings, fundraise, and organize around these crucial stories. Past films like Suppressed and Sabotaged: The Fight to Vote (2024) and Beyond Bars (2023) have inspired thousands of such events.

Locally, the documentary will be shown at the Livonia Salon Documentary Group, providing an opportunity for Metro Detroiters to come together, witness these stories, and engage in discussion about press freedom and human rights.
